RISE Project

VISUAL IDENTITY

RISE Project is a leading Romanian investigative journalism platform that exposes corruption networks through intelligence analysis, data visualisation, and interactive databases.
The challenge was to refresh the identity while preserving a core element the client was adamant about keeping: the original target symbol. Rather than replacing it, the process became one of reworking it under that constraint. After multiple iterations, the current logo emerged as a more contemporary version of the original mark, retaining its recognisability while adapting it to the present. Within those constraints, the final mark reflects a balance between continuity and necessary updates.
For the typographic system, I chose Suisse Int’l as the primary typeface. Rooted in Swiss modernist principles, it combines a clean, geometric structure with subtle character. As a Swiss grotesque, it’s a dependable, hard-working sans serif—well suited for RISE Project’s need to communicate clarity, and authority without unnecessary stylistic noise.
The color palette was also updated to feel more current and balanced, while maintaining enough continuity to remain familiar to the existing audience.
Overall, the direction stays deliberately restrained. The identity is not designed to compete with the content, but to support it- a clear and stable framework that allows investigative journalism to remain front and center.
