For “steaua. young and innocents days”, a research-led exhibition project built around the Christmas Star made by Fine Arts students in Bucharest in the winter of 1968, I created the visual identity and the communication system across the program. The project brings to light a little-known episode - one single night of caroling interrupted by the Securitate - and uses the restored object (conserved by the Museum of the Romanian Peasant), archival photographs and documents, and new video interviews to connect personal memory with broader cultural and political context. Alongside the historical material, the exhibition expands into the present through contemporary works responding to the star as ritual, symbol, and gesture of dissent. My work covered the exhibition communication materials, all in-exhibition texts, and the toolkit for the three public events (posters, social media assets, cards etc.) The identity was designed to be clear and modular, while staying flexible enough to support both historical material and new commissions, and to visually connect generations: the artists of ’68, today’s students, and the wider public.
